Elope to Jurien Bay

Have you been giving some thought to eloping to get married? Having just the two of you at your ceremony is the ultimate micro wedding - intimate and personal, just the two of you making your heart-felt commitment to each other in a romantic setting - what could be more honest and sincere?

Jurien Bay and the surrounding areas offer many stunning locations for an elopement, from secluded beaches to luxury beach houses, the Pinnacles or Mt Lesueur.

This loved up couple did exactly that, bringing their respective children along to witness the happy occasion. The couple chose to be married in the garden of the lovely 'Coastal Paradise' in Jurien Bay. This stunning property has a shaded decking area, which the bride entered via an external staircase, with the groom waiting below. Celebrant Sharon Young performed the ceremony, bringing two witnesses with her, and the couple chose Justine Eacott to photograph their special day. The couple stayed on in the property for their honeymoon.

The stunning 'Bungalow Beach House' in Cervantes offers a luxurious setting for an elopement. With a range of beautiful settings in the house or garden, including an upstairs cocktail bar, a ceremony could be conducted either at the property or a nearby beach location, or even at the Pinnacles which is an easy 20-minute drive from here.

Popular beach locations for couples to elope to included secluded beaches such as those near Milligan Island in Green Head, Secret Beach in Jurien Bay and the beautiful Hangover Bay just south of Cervantes.

Why do couples chose to elope?

The Top Ten Reasons to Elope are these:

#1 - Couples want a 'Just Us' celebration. An elopement is a day focused entirely on each other; a day that they can craft around their own wishes. No need to please family or conform to traditions that are outdated, couples choosing to elope can have a day that is 100% about them.

#2 - Elopements are authentic. They truly reflect the lifestyle, beliefs and wishes of the marrying couple, without the need to cater for other peoples' beliefs, needs or wants.

#3 - Elopements are intimate, honest and sincere. Couples can exchange truly personal vows and promises, take the time to immerse themselves in their chosen location, feel the ground beneath their feet and the sun on their back without distraction.

#4 - Avoiding Family Drama. No matter how close a family is, weddings are ripe for family drama and someone's nose is always going to get put out of joint! Eloping is a great way to leave all the drama behind and focus on what really matters - your commitment to each other.

#5 - Valuing the experience over the 'stuff'. No need for seating plans, table decorations, party favours, flower arrangements, chair covers, candles and table runners; these are replaced with a stunning location, an intimate ceremony for two, with the whole focus on love rather than merchandise!

#6 - Elopements offer much less anxiety and stress! Elopements offer a beautiful, magical day where everything is perfect. No need to impress your guests, keep them entertained, fed and watered, as well as cater for everyone else's expectations and dietary requirements.

#7 - Elopements are much easier to plan. No need to figure out who to ask to be in the bridal party and who to leave out, who to invite to the reception and who to leave out, how much alcohol you will need to provide for your guests, and who can't be seated next to whom.

#8 - Elopements avoid the need to be the centre of other peoples' attention. While you are truly the centre of each other's attention, eloping allows you to be your authentic selves without spending your day worrying about other people's opinions or judgement. Your vows can be as gooey and mushy as you wish, without any pressure to water down your truest, funniest or most sincere thoughts when the only audience is your own true love.

#9 - Elopements are an adventure rather than a compromise. They offer the perfect opportunity to step outside the 'norm', break from tradition and truly be yourselves. You can still dress to impress (each other), create your own traditions and truly craft an amazing day that reflects the two of you and your continuing adventure together.

#10 - Truly unique photo opportunities. With no other distractions, your photographer will be focused only on the two of you and will be able to capture each intimate moment of your day. Gone will be the staged photos of the couple with the wedding party, the couple with the bride's extended family and then the couple with the groom's extended family, the couple and their bridal party then each set of parents, ad infinitum. Just the two of you, at your chosen location, with your photographer capturing you having the time of your lives and being your truest selves.
